Orange Button, an initiative by the U.S. Department of Energy’s Solar Energy Technologies Office (SETO), is meant to
develop the critical infrastructure needed to facilitate transmission of solar-related data between developers, investors,
and other key stakeholders. Following the links below, you can find more information on the Orange Button program, access
the full dictionary, and learn more about the Orange Button formats that are built on the XBRL taxonomy.
Orange Button Translate is a proof of concept software that allows any stakeholder with solar operating data to utilize
the new data formats. It offers an introduction to the data dictionaries available to the industry. Orange Button, currently
being evaluated by major solar financial institutions as a tool to accelerate the underwriting and reporting practices
found throughout the industry, is anticipated to be the new standard in solar data handling. kWh Analytics, as the leading
provider of risk management services, is proud to support these efforts.
As the culmination of a muti-year award, we are appreciative of the collaboration and support provided by all industry
stakeholders. Particular thanks must go to
NREL, and the
Department of Energy
for their efforts on this project.
If you have any questions, recommendations, concerns, or simply want to join the effort, we encourage you to join the
Orange Button Slack community at the link above, or email us at
firstname.lastname@example.org, and we will respond as quickly as possible.
